Re: Norway:
Well I am sorry to dissapoint you, I live in Lillehammer the city known for its stable and cold winters, it rained today... We have a bit of snow left, but yeah pretty much the same as you.
My city had a pretty good winter. ...when it arrived after Christmas, the rest not so much... (With the exception of the most Northern parts, but I am pretty sure they didn't get as much snow as they should have)
The weather is just insane and unnatural and even if I don't really enjoy snow or the cold, but we have had an average of like -15C instead of -30C so...
Heck from Christmas and until like 2 weeks ago half of Norway was burning, and I don't mean metaphorically, two of the fires burned down 40 and about 60 houses, and a lot of individual fires burned down stuff all over.
At points counties had like 4-5 fires going at the same time... And that was on top of like 50 wood/grass fires, basically all of it because it was cold but no snow or rain*.
The worst of it was in my home county so twice I thought my family was in danger of it, because I head their cities and "out of control fire" on the radio news without hearing the rest. Thankfully they were okay and as far as I know no one died in any of the fires.
*I talked to two different people back in my home county and they both pointed out that it rained for like the second time this year, if this continues not only will more houses burn down, but electricity will become seriously expensive.
Re: Norway:
(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 01:50 am (UTC)(link)I saw those fires in the news and they looked nasty. Some older villages burned partly to the ground, if I remember correctly? But good to hear that no-one got killed.
Re: Norway:
Yes, yes they were, two villages basically burned to the ground. I am pretty sure no one was killed, I can't remember hearing about any deaths at least.
and now I will feel horrible if anyone actually did die.
