Re: South Carolina or OOOOOOOKLLAAAHOOMMMMMAAAA!
I lived in the Upstate which had some mountains at the very east end. A lot of forests (mostly pine trees) and hills in my area. Fairly mild weather. We almost never get snow. The worse part is the humidity in the summer.
The middle part of SC I know nothing about. :P
The coastal part is flatter than the Upstate. They can get hurricanes being so close to the ocean. Generally the hurricanes don't go far enough into the state to affect the Upstate. Obviously humidity is worse. That is one benefit of OK. They get hot here but it is a dry heat.
Dishes? Hmmm. Typical southern food. Fried chicken and sweet tea definitely. I can't drink any other tea than sweet tea to be honest. Grits is popular but I hate them (gross texture).
One thing about Oklahoma. It is flat. Ridiculously flat. As someone used to hills, it can be a bit weird. You see a town's lights at night and think, "Oh that is not far away." Then you drive for another hour. :|
