Asking here because... why the hell not?

Okay, so I could swear I've seen a clip where Superman is talking to Billy Batson, Shazam's alternate identity; and he's stunned and upset that a kid his age is being made to bear the responsibility of being Shazam. It seems like he's just found out about him (like, just seen him change back for the first time)... Does anyone know what this is from? Thanks!

I don't know about a clip, but is sounds like Superman/Shazam: First Thunder (which is a comic book).

It's from the comic.

As far as I remember, they don't really like each other in the DCAU.

They clashed in Justice League Unlimited, to the point where Captain Marvel resigned from the League, but there have been a number of animated movies since, and they follow their own continuities.

Oh, I thought you meant specifically the DCAU and not the other animated AUs that came after. Sorry about that!

Oh, yeah... I'm not certain of the terminology, so you may be right. I'm not sure of the post-JLU animated shows and movies are under the DCAU name or not...

I think some are and some aren't depending on who the creative team behind them was.

That makes sense.

The new movies are called the DCU Animated Original Movies.

The only two to feature Shazam were Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam (a short made for the DCUAOM Shorts Collection), and JL:War... That scene doesn't happen in either of them - Superman is proud of how Billy carries himself as Shazam in the first (actually, I think they might have still been using the Captain Marvel name in that one, but I'm watching something else, so can't check ATM), and only Cyborg knows Shazam is Billy in the latter.

Yeah, I watched the "Return of Black Adam" short. Interestingly enough, in that one they have Shazam, the wizard who gave Billy his power, be on the edge of death. He makes Billy Captain Marvel at the age he does because he doesn't have time to wait until he's older. Though that does make me wonder how Billy is supposed to call on his power to become Captain Marvel...

I don't think they ever animated that one.

Superman/Shazam!: First Thunder (Issue 4) was the comic.

Captain Marvel joins the Justice League, but his positive opinions about supervillain Lex Luthor's apparent reform create a heavy strain on his relationship with Superman. This tension eventually leads to an all-out battle between Marvel and Superman, which destroys Luthor's newest creation, Lexor City. Marvel loses the battle to Superman. Although Marvel is eventually proven to have been right all along, he is still understandably hurt by Superman's actions, and resigns from the Justice League in disgust, despite Superman's efforts to apologize, unaware that he was unwittingly a pawn in a plot by Luthor and Amanda Waller to damage Superman's image.
