Re: Ask a local: Mexico
I know, right? Have you ever seen a non-local freak out while they're in your area during a tiny earthquake? It's kinda funny.

To be completely honest I miss most earthquakes. It's really hard for me to feel them. I generally have to have someone else tell me or figure it out because everything around me is shaking.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-08 04:41 am (UTC)(link)But yeah, buildings are so resistant to them that people tend to take them very lightly around here, myself included. Sometimes I do worry that we might be a little too careless at times, tho: I've had to wake up students who were sleeping during big earthquakes because they don't think they are dangerous at all, which is not a very wise thing to do...
Re: Ask a local: Mexico
Yeeaaaahhhh, something could fall on you or the quake could get worse. It's a fine line we need to walk between over-panicking and being carelessly stupid. It's hard to judge sometimes. At least we know what to do in case of an emergency. That's gotta count for something.
