A lot of that's due to that article that popped up here recently and how the Best animated Picture category is basically a sham.

Most of the voters in the Academy don't even TRY with the animated films, be they shorts or full length films. Many will just give the Oscar to certain studios (Dreamworks, Disney, Pixar) and not even bother with seeing them.

Now granted, it was not Best Picture worthy, but I can see the anger in the argument and agree on principal. Beauty and the Beast was the only animated film that got that prestige to be nominated, but they never wanted an animated film to reach that again, so they made the category and gets swept under rte rug every time.

True, the Animated Picture category really isn't taken seriously by the academy, which is a shame.
If they were to ever nominate another animated film for Best Picture though, I still don't think Frozen would have made the cut. I just had this argument with a friend of mine, but she's basically Frozen-obsessed at the moment. :P
