I would totally get a microhome and use it as a studio space for writing, if I could afford that. Correction--I will do that. It's now a life goal.

http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/ - So many awesome tiny houses! They have "to go" houses that are trailers and "cottages" which are adorable and awesome. I can never decide which tiny house is my favorite.

To be honest I'd probably get claustrophobic pretty quickly, but I really like the idea of them. Maybe having one out in the woods somewhere as a getaway.

Now one of those I could totally do and would absolutely love to have!

Yeah, that's why for me it would be a studio space. Somewhere to go when I need to focus. Of course I'd have to own land to put it on (I'm assuming? Maybe you can take the mobile ones camping but I think it would depend on the campsite place?) but in my mind I also live in a nice place in the city. Can't imagine having two people live in one of these together, though I wouldn't be surprised if there was someone out there who made it work. (I'm far from tiny, too, so that's a factor.)

I've also considered a houseboat.

Oh my goodness, I would feel so claustrophobic.

I love the concept, but I couldn't do it, man. Way too confined for me!

haha yeah I freaked a bit when I saw it, until I got to the bedroom and thought "actually, that looks like a good studio space?" and then I scrolled and saw that it was intended for writers to work in. The architect even says anyone who lived there would have to do so temporarily for that reason.

I love this tiny house blog! I would love to have a tiny home to use as a studio.

This is totally my thread. TOTALLY. If I had the money, and was living on my own, I so would bulldoze this place and put a tinyhome on it. Less to clean, less clutter (less space means less room to hoard stuff), FREEDOM OF LIFE. Ahem. I may be overinvested in this ha ha.

I think the Whistler treehouse (http://thehemloft.com/) would be pretty cool if it wasn't on Crown land (it's a Canadian thing). This trailer home would be nifty too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB-MhZkYVo8), if I could find the time around work to build one.

But in the pinch, any of those shipping container fixtures will do nicely.
