Why You Should Read X-Men Comics: A PSA.

- It's not just a superhero comic: It's more like an epic sci-fi soap opera that also sometimes has space opera elements.

- All the weird shit that happens. And I'm not just talking about the alternate universe shenanigans. I'm talking about stuff like this: http://comicsalliance.com/avengers-vs-xmen-wizard/

- The decades of continuity and spin-offs and reboots and whatnot may seem like a bad thing, until you realize that because there's soooooo much material you'll never ever run out of stuff to read! (Don't like how the main X-Men title is going? Take a break and read some X-Force or X-Factor or New Mutants!)

- Diverse cast, with many nationalities and ethnicities represented. Not to mention, tons of awesome female characters.

- Chris Claremont's dialogue is sometimes unintentionally hilarious.

- There is a fuzzy blue swashbuckler guy who used to be in the circus.

- There is also a teenage mallrat character who embodies everything that was fun about the 90s.

- Speaking of the 90s, Rob Liefeld's art is ALWAYS unintentionally hilarious.
