Nothing to do with the trolls, but I feel like the Anna/Kristoff romance did have a plot point driving it, though? Like, she's all "ahh so he's my true love SAVE ME I'M FREEZING" and then just when you think she's gonna be saved by true love, nope! It's all "NOT MY SISTER" etc. And it's not really Elsa who saved Anna - it was Anna who saved Anna. Choosing to sacrifice herself to protect her sister was the act of true love that thawed her. So I felt like that dramatic running-towards-Kristoff scene was necessary as a contrast to what eventually did save her. It was a "hey, this whole romance thing is tangential to how much these sisters love each other" moment, which I also read as a "Anna, you idiot, you also haven't known Hans for that long, did you expect a kiss from him to work?" moment. Possibly that was only in my head though. XD;

(And then Anna and Kristoff can date for a while and then decide that they prefer being bffs who snark at each other all the time, y/n/m?)

"haven't known KRISTOFF for that long," I meant.

Yea, you're right! I will acknoledge that the Anna/Kristoff thing worked and had it's own purpose, and it did fulfill that purpose, but maybe I'm just bitter because it came out of nowhere for me and I think the movie could've worked without it, even though, like you said, it did help empathize that romantic love is not the only important kind of love.

"Anna, you idiot, you also haven't known Kristoff for that long, did you expect a kiss from him to work?"

I was thinking that too, but...I figured that was just me being cynical; this is Disney after all, though...Kristoff DID bring up the "But you only just met him!" thing earlier in the film, so idk.

(Maybe! I would like that, but I seriously, seriously doubt it, lol. Maybe that should be my headcanon. They aren't terrible together or anything, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. Ah well...)

The second that old troll said 'act of true love' I knew it was going to involve Elsa, and I was *so* happy!

... I also cried. Then got out of the theatre and *immediately* called my sister to say, "I just watched frozen. I cried, and I love you." Seriously, that was all I could say. I think I repeated that to her about three times before just hanging up.

Yes. Those sillies bumbling their way through an attempted relationship while still being snarky bff's would be *epic*! I'd *love* to see that!

There's also the simple physical fact of her running after Kristoff put her in the location to protect Elsa.
