Anyone who tells you to kill yourself is a terrible person who should not be listened to. Also, if you've been reading that one poem in A Shropshire Lad, please throw it out the fucking window.

When the person who tells me I should die is the very person who gave me life, I should probably listen to them.

No: parents can be inimical to their own children, and often are, by reason of their own pathologies. Sometimes your nearest and dearest wish you ill, but that's no reason to oblige them. Live to spite this person, OP.

I don't want to spite her. I want to make her happy for once.

Call a help line. You dying in the long run, won't make her happy. You can use that as protection for your actions, but taking your own life, is your own choice, and won't make anyone happy. Even if you've convinced yourself otherwise.

She's told me otherwise to my face.

You keep saying that without reading the comments. I never mentioned your mother at all. You obviously need to seek counselling. Phone a helpline or go to therapy.

Edit: miss read this response, but helpline/therapy still valid. Your mother is not the whole world. You sound young, so please seek help.

I really don't want help. I want to just get it overwith, and that isn't up for debate. I was just wondering if the life insurance angle was a viable option.

There is always another choice besides death. Always.

Maybe for others. Not for me.

Of course there is. You just don't want to see it. You'd rather give up. That's your choice. But you know it's not the only one.
