I quit my geology degree with the intention of studying english literature and I regret it intensely. Not because I want to be a geologist but because I never pursued the english literature part and that unfinished degree has made me feel like shit for the last eight years. It was the first time I just gave up on something... but not the last. I feel like if I'd just stuck it out I wouldn't have quite so many problems with self-motivation.
