See, I get what you're saying with point B. I love male/female brotps and I really wish there were more on TV, but I just can't see these two that way. Like, my friends are saying it's platonic, but I have been trying really hard to see it that way for their sake and I just can't. And don't even get me started on the "like brother/sister" bullshit. I've seen fucking incest ships with less subtext than this.

And in real life I'd be with you on C, but since this is fiction it doesn't have to go that way. I don't see Daryl as her caregiver at all anymore. Maybe back in 4x10, but they've progressed pretty damn far since then, and they really seem to be viewing each other more like equals now. I think their drunk fight really cemented it for me that Beth isn't afraid of him and isn't going to put up with his shit. IDK about you, but if my dad or older brother blew up at me like that, I would be off pissing myself in the corner, waiting for it to be over, and I'm not normally scared of either of them. No way would I react like Beth did unless I knew I was on equal footing with the person. Even when he was tugging her around and manhandling her (which was so fucking wrong, btw, but I think most of us agree that he fucked up), Beth didn't seem scared, just frustrated. If he hurt her or if she reacted in a more passive way, I'd have a much different opinion about this, but as it stands, I see them as equals and I believe they view each other that way too.
(I also understand the whole "teacher" thing too, but IDK, you can teach someone something at any age, so I don't see it the same way.)
(And I agree that 18 =/= adult, but I do see her as a young adult, maturity wise. Shit, most of the young adults I know are total fuck-ups that aren't half as mature as Beth. I think the apocalypse would age most of us in a way.)

There's a lot of things that made me wary about this ship, but if the writers keep handling it the way they are, I'm defiantly on board with this.
