Honestly, this one of the reasons I'm pretty apprehensive of putting my written work out there.

I just want to write about fucked up people in fucked up relationships doing fucked up things.
Because people are flawed, and I'm not really trying to build role models or "heroes."

But I just know that a handful of people are going to go "YOU'RE PROMOTING THIS. YOU THINK PEOPLE SHOULD ASPIRE TO THIS. YOU THINK THIS BEHAVIOR IS ACCEPTABLE."
No, I don't.
I realize the shit is messed. But the world can be that way, in general. I like exploring these concepts. And I don't really want to have to add the disclaimer "Don't try this at home!" after every instance.

I for one would probably love your work. I like reading about people doing fucked up things that the author doesn't endorse.

I don't think you need to worry about it too much. Yes there are people who read Lolita and think it's a delightful romance and others who see them and think Nabokov meant it that way, but most people understand that Humbert Humbert is a terrible person and was supposed to be, and I think this is true for most fiction of the type you're talking about.

Sadly there are always going to be those sorts of people. Hell there's people in this comm that think the Hanninbal fandom likes eating people and Loki fen condone genocide. Don't let them put you off.
