I can confirm this. For once, I became very concerned with making sure that no consumption of any means of media that I liked could be perceived as problematic. I thought that, as a socially conscious person, that was right for me to remove any such works from my life (since, I've learned that this is impossible and absurd, and have come to accept it is okay to like some problematic things). Anyway, during that time, I analyzed texts partly completely neurotic way. I saw subtle notes of prejudice and bias everywhere, and I blew very small things completely out of proportion. Is an easy trap to fall, and the fear is that it is very satisfying! It gives you the thought that you're wise, when really you're selfish.

It is important that, to actively consume media, people work to see the bigger picture.
