Re: Life altering choices.

I've actually made life-changing decisions several times over the past twenty years. I just made very sure that I was changing direction in ways that would improve my life, before I did so. Despite some peaks and valleys, for the most part, it's been a generally steady upward trend.

My only other option, if I hadn't started making decisions to change my direction in life regularly, would be to still be stuck in exactly the same place I was in 1998. Which would have supremely sucked.

So no, I don't regret any of the many many many life-changing choices I've made at all. Because no matter what negative things may have happened (and may still happen!) over the course of my life, nothing will ever be as rock-bottom as that was.

I'm in the process of trying to decide whether or not I should make a direction change right now, in fact; and making very sure it will be for the better, is what I am focusing on.

I don't know what type of rock bottom you hit, but I can so relate to being ready to take a few risks to get away from my rock bottom. I hit it a few weeks ago, and tried to take my life because of how chaotic, abusive, and destructive my entire environment (minus a few close, good friends) around me had become.

Fortunately I am leaving that life soon. I'm nervous because I know there will be risks ahead, but more than anything else I'm excited. Because I'll take practically anything else compared to what my life was like a few weeks ago.
