Yeah, I didn't see it as romantic at all. Notice how I never even mentioned love in the secret. I just saw it as the writers setting up the possibility of something along those lines in the far future.

And I'm not referring to him manhandling her (which, like I said, was fucking wrong on so many levels, and if Beth had seemed genuinely scared of him I would have nope'd out of there), but the parts that came afterwards. They were both drunk, neither of them hurt each other, and it was supposed to be emotional and heartbreaking. Daryl blew up because he'd been holding all that shit in, and Beth's comment was the straw that broke the camel's back. He has no excuse for pulling the shit he did, and Beth told him as much and HE LISTENED, which is why I don't see a power difference there.

If you see them as just friends, cool, I'm glad for you and I respect your opinion. No need for the sarcasm.
