(Anonymous) 2014-03-11 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)So basically the in the last chapter, Gai arrived and is about to open the Eight Gates and basically he's going to die after using them since that's what happens after you use them. Either that he or he will die fighting Madara.
Anyway, while I hate the fact he's probably going to die but what bugs me the most is that his death is more than likely going to be completely fucking pointless. He's not Naruto or fucking Sasuke there's no chance in hell of him beating Madara and with how overpowered the fucker is, Gai opening and using the Eight Gates won't help him deal much damage. And Kakashi is going to lose yet another person that's important to him.

When I heard about the possibility of Sasuke becoming Hokage, the bullshit surrounding why Obito is now the super bad (or was, sorta still is?) and other fucking prices of bullshit (the naruto/hinata stuff was also out of left field for me), I'm just like...
"KISHIMOTO WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY MANGA SERIES?!"
I can't believe I still care when I stopped reading at the Five Kage arc....

But seriously, if they pointlessly murder one of the only people in the manga who represents the value of hard work and faith over special bloodlines, then that would be the biggest middle-finger to the themes of Part I ever. Even bigger than Hashirama's cells being passed around like magical steroids.

That man is resilent as fuck and he's been through more shit than most characters in the fucking series. He can't catch a break.And god, I don't what will be worse him just sucking it up or some sort of tearful goodbye between the two of them because you know Gai is totally going to give a speech about how he wishes they could have more challenges and ask him to take care of Lee. And oh god, the flashbacks of Gai/Kakashi will be brutal. And Lee's reaction to this will be even fucking worse especially after losing Neji.
It will definitely be the biggest fuck you to the themes of Part 1. Lee couldn't catch a break diring part 2 but Gai was still there, being badass and showing how hard work truly fuckibg works. Killing Gai off will be absolute bullshit.

And there's my new headcanon, KakaGai girl here, too.Oh, god, don't say that. The one thing this manga still does right is touching flashbacks and heartbreaking death scenes and I can't take it if that happens with Gai. Especially since I know that we won't get the reaction this story really deserves, and that's Kakashi going "fuck it" and sucking everything around him into Kamui.Re: Canon Rant Thread

Those challenges Gai issued to Kakashi since they were young were totally a way to distract Kakashi and keep him from wallowing in despair. You cannot convince me otherwise.I'll stop now before I start gushing about all my KakaGai ferlings. I just love these two weirdos so much.And that's exactly the reasreason I'm dreafing his death so much. Just the thoughtvofvhim dying makes me sad but the flashbacks and Gai's goodbye are totally going to be fucking brutal. I don't think my heart can take it. My poor babies and OTP.
I hope Kakashi either stops him or they team up and go out with a bang together.

His first challenge ever was to get Kakashi out of that lonely horrible house after his father's death, dear god, get it out of my head, I can't.But, you know, I think I would be okay if they went out together, with Gai showing himself as Kakashi's truest partner and best friend, instead of Obito with his too-little-too-late bullshit, matching eyes or not. I do not want that tool stealing Gai's thunder by being all that Kakashi has left now, fuck that.

It's insidious that way.I would be okay with Gai dying if he went out with Kakashi too. It would the pefect ending for thse two. Well, next to getting married, anyway. And I cannot agree hard enough with you on Obito. Dude fucking lost any and all rights/chances to call himself Kakashi's best friend. Kakasi deserves better than Obito.
