I'll join you for some penguin-delivered cake, OP! I never would have thought of that one in particular, but I do notice it a LOT when people in tv/movies order stuff and then leave before it's eaten or even before it's arrived. At least Gilmore Girls would acknowledge it more often than not.

When I was a kid, I was always disappointed that they didn't stay longer in that cartoon world. I would always try to imitate the penguin dance they do with Bert.

Hahaha, same here, OP. Even as an adult, I'm all OMG WHUT NO YOU CAN'T PASS UP CAKE, etc.

Free cakes and tea brought to you by penguin waiters, no less!

I stand by your priorities, OP.

I don't remember that part of the movie (I haven't seen it since I was really, really young) but I feel like I'd react basically the same way haha

I feel this way about any scenes with food, where the characters must leave quickly before or while they eat.

DON'T WASTE THE FOOD.

Maybe they just really liked penguins? My niece loves penguins and given the chance would no doubt chose dancing/playing with them over eating cake - which is something she can do pretty much anytime.

I like you, OP.

OP has her/his priorities straight.
kryptoncat: A quote from Radio from the movie: "Why, if we were all weiner dogs, our problems would be solved." (OR MAYBE IT WAS A BASSET HOUND)

The cake and tea would taste like chalk, since they are in a chalk drawing!

(Oh wait, they eat candy apples later... hmmmm...)
arcadiaego: Grey, cartoon cat Pusheen being petted (Default)

The thing that bothers me is the movie completly forgets the kids exist for that number - Mary's supposed to be their nanny and they're nowhere to be seen!
