That sucks. Super unprofessional of them to just "lose track of time" - it doesn't speak well of the company if they consider hiring a new person as a low priority.

...What kind of scarves do you make?

It's a small business that has nationwide and even international orders to fill, so I can understand that they get swamped pretty easily, but still, if they just hired me right away I could take some of that strain off! XP Especially because, like I said, I used to do this kind of work and was really good at it. I did work for UGG and Teva customer service, it was great. It was a high-volume thing with a big backlog to get through on top of managing all the new inquiries and orders, and I cleared it out almost by myself over the course of a couple weeks.

I make all kinds of scarves. Harry Potter scarves, Doctor Who scarves, color blocks, stripes. I made a bisexual pride flag scarf and hat (I also know how to make hats!) and thought it'd be neat to make similar pride hats and scarves. I've not quite figured out how to knit in a design, but I'm working on it!

If you can do stripes, you're 90% of the way to designs. The other 10% is keeping the right tension and twisting the strands around each other so you don't get gaps, as well as keeping all those damn colors straight. Which is a pain in the ass, yes, but so worth it. It's easier when knitting flat, but doing it in the round is cake once you have that down.

My problem is that I can't figure out how to carry the yarn in a design. I tried to do just a simple diamond shape on a coaster made on flat needles, but for the life of me, I can't quite connect how to carry the yarn in this diamond shape the way I do on stripes in scarves!

My other problem is that I'm not very good at learning from videos and picture tutorials. I always have to have someone show me in person, which is how I learned to knit in the first place, I'd wanted to do it for years and tried to do it with tutorials and instruction books but never ended up with anything more than a tangled mess--but I got it in about five minutes when one of my old coworkers showed me.
