Most Hermione/Harry shippers are absolutely fine, but some Harmonians gave the whole lot a bad reputation when they basically denounced Rowling for her 'anvil-sized hints' comment, tried to wage war against MuggleNet and Leaky Cauldron (who did the interview), and, at one point, tried to rewrite one of the books (I want to say Half-Blood Prince?) so it was Harmonian, and in the process managed to make every single character OOC.

It's not so much that they're hated as just... mocked and derided, and it sucks for the sane fans who get tarred with the same brush.
