Or people shouldn't deduce anything from the type of fiction people like, because everyone's motives might be different? I personally refuse to read science fiction anymore because I'm a very sciencey type and I know from experience that the basic inaccuracies bother me.

I doubt anyone would make the connection between "mostly reads fantasy and best sellers" and "picky scientist," though, because making judgements based on only one thing usually turns out wrong.
