I don't know about the best fonts, but I can share the worst. http://www.cracked.com/funny-5647-fonts/

Seriously, the only widely hated one that's not in there is Sand, which I actually kind of like.

I tend to like most of the hated fonts. Actually I don't think there are any fonts I hate as long as I can read them. Really strong font hate confuses me.

Wait . . . does that mean you were okay with the font the OP used?

I wouldn't use it but I wouldn't complain about it either. It's just kinda there.

Your encyclopedic knowledge of fonts impresses me.

My knowledge is pretty minimal, to be honest. For instance, I don't know the name of the font in this pic:

... That was a terrible, TERRIBLE font choice, and the sign maker should be ashamed of themselves.

(I... may have accidentally headcanoned. The sign maker knew the business owner in school, and it was not pleasant. SM, however, puts that aside when BO approaches him about making the sign. However, BO is being a jerk the whole time SM is designing it, so when it comes to the fabrication he makes the spacing just a *little* tighter, just enough that it looks right until it's actually hung and you step back to look at it.)

... it took me way, way, way too long to figure out that was actually an L and I not a U.

Without this comment I still would have had no idea.

Geez, same here.

I'm going to use that in red to simulate blood. -evil cackle-

But seriously, thank you for this. It'll be very useful.

That article has really made me question my resume.

I've been using Times New Roman not necessarily because I like it, but because I thought it was what was expected from a professional document. Now I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and change it to Tahoma (which I've always found quite nice).

I did a quick Google search and found this. http://www.linkedin.com/groups/What-font-is-best-resumes-3662550.S.47066514 Pretty interesting discussion--it sounds like Calibri is both popular and close to what you're going for.

Oh wow, thank you!

It made me seriously happy to see Georgia on there as a 'favourite' font. It's been my favourite for years.
