Honestly, I've had something similar happen to me before, and I didn't feel jealous so much as pissed that I had been treated so rudely. As you note, it's disrespectful.

I don't feel possessive of people in the sense that I want them to just be with me or that I feel threatened if they're around other possible romantic interests. But if I make plans with someone, (whether it's someone I'm dating or someone I'm just friends with) then I'm going to focus on them during that period, and I expect them to reciprocate. Otherwise, it's almost like you're just there to kill time until something better comes along, and that's not nice at all.

Thankyou! Yes, that makes sense. I don't feel threatened per se by other romantic interests, and have encouraged my long-term current partner to pursue them.
