I never find the kudos lonely/creepy (but I've always had my kudos consolidated so maybe that's part of it), but I understand how you feel wishing new people would say... something, just so I could say something back. There's no real way to say 'thanks' for kudos...

(I'm guilty of doing a lot of kudos-leaving myself when I can't think of what to say, though... but that's not based on how old the fic is, that's based on how well I can word anything at any given time that isn't fictional)
