1. You should write what you enjoy, because no one else is going to do it for you, and it's a toss of the coin if other people will enjoy it.

2. While fanfic readers enjoy a well written story, many are not overly concerned with how technically accurate it is as long as it hits the emotional buttons they're looking for at the time (i.e. HS AU)

3. You can't control what other people enjoy.

Honestly, there's quite a few "accurate" fics that have completely turned me off because they come across so condescending. I want a good story, not a history lesson.
