Is your fic writing as laced with angry-kitten style entitle-rage as this secret is? If so, well there's your problem. Go through them, take out every third swear word, then go through again and remove every second swear word from the remaining count, then add up all the swears still in it and hack that number in half. Once you've done that, you'll be ready to do some real rewrites.
