I do the same as you and my fics are liked, even though not everyone notices the great things I keep thinking they would. Still, many have said that they wouldn't normally read stuff like that, but that they adored mine. I have a personal style and I don't really care about the reviews and such. I write to myself, since no one writes stuff I want to read. Nuff said.
