Yeah, they just showed up out of the blue and that was kind of annoying.

I kind of have to disagree with that. In the beginning of the movie, the troll mom said "I'm keeping you two", and thus,as my best friend inferred, he was their adopted son. And if Ana needed help, it would make sense he would go to them, considering he had seen them help her before.

I love the song and it's exactly the kind of thing a loving (but overbearing) family would do---"YOU BOUGHT HOME A [significant other]!!!!" "I'M GOING TO HAVE GRANDCHILDREN, THANK HEAVENS!"
