Animal Farm! Because it will change you. You'll never be able to look at politics across the globe the same way again. You'll start seeing the book in every revolution and in every dictatorship.

There are so many good books on that list but that's the one I would choose.

....eh, IDK, when I read it for school, I totally didn't get all the parallels I was supposed to, and the satire went completely over my head. I think most of Orwell's work hits the hardest after you've lived a certain amount of years, and have begun to have an inkling of how the world at large works.

(IA with everything you've said about the book, BTW.)

There are parts of FANDOM I don't look at in the same way after Animal Farm. (Bullying "safe spaces," I'm looking at you.)
