Re: An article of clothing you'd really like to own
I did a quick google search for hijabs and I'd say something like this could be merged well with a ballgown, what do you think?
Re: An article of clothing you'd really like to own
Besides, your hijab is supposed to cover your chest area for religious reasons and I know that style usually goes underneath the clothes. I'd show you a picture of how best to wear the hijab to comply with Islamic rules of covering the aurah, but Google is not being helpful and I don't have a phone that can take a selfie atm.
Re: An article of clothing you'd really like to own
And do you mean that the hijab still needs to flow over the chest area, even if that area is already covered by clothing? Basically it still needs to disguise the 'shape' of the chest? Because I did some google image searches of things like hijab wedding dresses and found things like this and ; do they comply with Islamic clothing rules?
Thanks a lot for answering all these questions. It's just your comment sparked off some inspiration and I need to practice clothing so I thought it'd be a fun exercise.

Re: An article of clothing you'd really like to own
Yeah, the hijab needs to flow over the chest area to hide the general shape (so wearing a coat over your hijab would be fine). I wouldn't say those comply either. Sad to say it, but a lot of hijabi fashion does not actually comply with Islamic rules these days.
Oh, I found pictures of my aunt's wedding! Our family is very strongly religious so her wedding dress was gorgeous and complied with Islamic rules. You can't really see her hijab because it's white the same colour as her dress, but it flows to below her chest: here with some of her cousins, and the way her cousins wear their hijab is how most of us do it on a casual day. I'm sure you can tell that my aunt the one in white. Here's more of a close-up, and the goof sitting next to her is me. You can see how I wear mine differently from my cousins, that's how I wear my hijab when I'm too lazy to pin it up (I know, shame on me for being too lazy even for my aunt's wedding).
I don't mind the questions, I'm happy to be asked :) I love talking about my religion, as you can probably tell from my long replies.
