yes I am exactly the same way with writing :) I think it's a natural part of the learning process, honestly, to look at what others are doing wrong as well as right, and compare yourself in an objective way. And with art you are constantly learning. Constantly.

Exactly. I even remember having classes where we would purposefully read bad things so the teacher could say, "See how they blah blah blah? Don't do that." Then we would read something good and the teacher would do the same thing but in reverse.
