No imaginary plans, and if anything the age gap thing works in my favor. It just weirds me out that it's such a reoccurring theme in things he both writes and then stars in.

It always kind of creeped me out a bit too when I read about his other movies, and with the Mother's age gap and Ted. I don't mind the fantasy but that theme appears quite a bit in his work.

Is the age gap actually a component of the script or does it just so happen that the actress they cast for the role is much younger than Radnor?

Component of the script. In Liberal Arts he, a 35 year old man, has a relationship with a 19 year old girl. In happythankyoumoreplease he finds a ~8 year old boy on the subway who got separated from his foster family and then keeps him for a few days.

I have never found him attractive until now, but it's because of the picture, not his tastes. In fact, I had (and will likely maintain) an active dislike of him because he's Ted on How I Met Your Mother AKA Barney Show. This is more proof that beards are magic. And sexy.
