How do you think your favorite characters from your fandoms died/will die

Not counting characters whose deaths have happened or been described in canon, obviously -- speculate about in what circumstances and at what age your favorite characters died, after the book/show/movie's end.

If the show/whatever is still ongoing, speculate about how you think they will die, even if you don't expect it to happen that way in canon.

Discworld: Vetinari will never die. He'll become a zombie or a vampire or even a god and just go on ruling Ankh-Morpork.

I think he'd go for zombie or vampire, myself. Aren't Discworld gods/god-like beings tied to people's beliefs? Which I can't personally see Vetinari being okay with... Maybe he'd become an anthropomorphic personification, though? Still tied to what people believe, but less dependent on people's specific beliefs about him.

I was thinking something like how Moist became an avatar of a god. Vetinari is just so good at ruling Ankh-Morpork, he might as well become a god of ruling. Something like that. Personally, I think he might go for vampire. Much more classy, and he'd already have the means of doing so.

Derek will die at the ripe old age of 37 whilst taking a fatal blow meant for Scott. Scott will cradle him in his arms and say, "I'm the alpha, I'm suppose to protect you, not the other way around" and Derek will tell him he's proud of the alpha he's turned into. And then DEATH.

Hahaha, j/k I don't really like to speculate how characters die (character death is my nemesis!) but I definitely think Scott will die protecting or saving someone.

I do kind of thing we'll get a Gainax ending for Kill La Kill next week with either Ryuuko or Mako because of some Life Fiber loophole bullshit.

I hope that Dean will die saving Sam and go to heaven (I don't think Dean can live a life that is not hunting). Sam will not be a fucking idiot and try to bring Dean back. Sam will settle down (maybe with a hunter girlfriend) and focus more on research and less on actual hunting.

The Walking Dead: Everyone will get eaten by a zombie eventually.

I don't watch any other shows. Hrm.

Also, heeeyyyy I read all those fics you linked (awesome btw). Do you have any long Stiles/Scott fic? I tried to find some but they all seem to be endgame Derek/Stiles.

I'm glad you liked them! Did I link you A Place to Belong by blacktofade? It's 10k. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head but I'm on my work computer so I don't have acccess to lists. When I get home I'll see what else I have stashed away. :3

Dean dying in combat and Sam passing away after being the Bobby to a whole new generation of hunters is the best way for them to go. Happiest and most fitting, anyway.

The good news is, there's a good chance they'll either fix her again or rewrite time again.

Cimorene and Mendenbar die of old age surrounded by the people they love after living a long and loving life. Nothing will convince me otherwise not after they lost all those years.

Rick from Rick and Morty will die from liver cirrhosis or something else mundane and Morty will be so devastated that he'll find an alternate timeline where Rick has somehow lost his family or something similar and he'll bring him back to his own and pretend nothing's wrong (It makes sense for the show, I promise. Plus, they've already done something similar)

Agent McCall (can't remember his name) from Teen Wolf will die saving either Melissa or Scott and show that even though he was a total bag of dicks, he still cared for them and wanted to make amends to Scott. And then he will also be off the show forever because I don't really like him

Ichigo either already has or will be murdered off-screen by his father Isshin so he can be officially dead and a citizen of Soul Society, and no one will tell him for another 10 years.

Mike Nelson will most likely die at the hands of Crow and/or Servo. It may or may not be accidental, and Pearl Forrester may or may not try to steal credit for it. It will most likely be deeply humiliating for Mike, and by the time it's all over he will find death to be a welcome escape...until he meets Dr. Forrester and TV's Frank (who is now retired from Soultaking) in the afterlife. Alternatively, Merlin finds out that he doesn't believe in magic.

"It's starting," whispered Kejal. "Pray with me?"

Odo blinked, "How?"

"Just call out to what you believe in."

Kejal peered upward and began the song he sang at Doctor Mora's funeral eons ago. A prayer asking the Prophets to light a wayward traveler's destination.

Incredible heat blazed down. Odo clutched Kejal tighter. He watched the embers-- pieces of himself and his son-- mingle with Kira's cremains in the star's hellish onslaught. It happened too quickly to register more than a dull ache.

Kejal kept chanting. Odo sank to sit on an outcropping. He held Kejal closer and listened. Only his son would greet his imminent demise with a song.

Get a hold of yourself! Odo berated himself. Doctor Mora showed you how to die with dignity eleven billion years ago, now follow his example!

"It's okay." Kejal patted his arm. He curled up in Odo's lap like he used to in his youth and laid his head on his shoulder. "I'm right here with you. I love you, mother."

Odo's fingers dented Kejal's clothing. "I love you, too, Kejal."

Kejal remained perfectly calm. How could he not feel mortal terror? How was he so certain?

Odo clutched his offspring tighter, trying in vain to protect him from the inevitable. He comforted himself with an errant thought. We left our footprints with the Odoans. If all else fails, I know the story will live on. The Odoans will remember there was an Odo, a Kejal, a Kira Nerys, an Aleexa and a Mora Pol.

The star's boiling surface surged closer. He squeezed his eyes shut and waited for oblivion.

"Mother," Kejal whispered, "I understand why you're afraid, but don't be. There is so much to experience. We'll do this together, okay? You and me. Now open your eyes and see."

Grief-stricken, surrounded by his imminent incineration, Odo lifted his head. His eyes reflected a light not caused by the star above him. Both his eyebrows went up. The same glow came from himself, Kejal and the last Odoan biosphere barely visible in the distance.

"I lifted this vision from father's pillow. It's what he saw right before he died. Can you see it, mother? Can you see the light?"

"Kejal, I-- "

Odo remembered the whiteness he saw during Kejal's birth, the deka seed he'd planted and transporting Doctor Mora's braid into a nebula. All were things he did out of hope, and they came true.

I understand now.

Just like that, his fear became acceptance. His grip on his son relaxed. He beamed with tears welling in his eyes.

It was so simple.

"I found it," Odo said, "I found my prayer."

Kejal nuzzled Odo's shoulder. His response was drowned out by the disintegration of the last layer between them and the star's radiation. Their approximated skin began to dry out and flake off as the vacuum of space violently whipped at their hair.

Kejal looked up. Half his face was crumbling. He still managed a smile.

Odo felt himself solidifying like volcanic glass. He kissed his son's undamaged right ear and closed his eyes.

The light brightened.

Kejal gasped.

Odo said his prayer.

"Nerys."

A split second later, superheated plasma reduced everything to ashes.

Link from Ocarina of Time is a weird case in that he has two timelines, one of which has a confirmed death (well, a confirmed defeat, but most people interpret it as death) in one timeline, and a... confirmed but unspecified death in the other. I have headcanon for both:

In the downfall timeline, Hyrule Historia says that he's defeated by Ganondorf (not Ganon). My headcanon for that is that... by that time, he's damn exhausted. He's gone through the Spirit Temple, he's raced back to the Temple of Time and seen Zelda captured, he's gone through Ganon's temple. He's low on health, magic, and arrows, and eventually, he runs out of light arrows. Exhausted and out of options, he engages Ganondorf in a sword duel, and... well, Ganondorf isn't as worn-down :(

For the child timeline, which is the one that leads to Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess (and the Hero's Shade), I don't have such elaborate headcanon - it must be a reasonably unhappy life, though, to end up as the Shade. The headcanon I do have is that he was largely a wanderer - he would return to the castle to help Zelda if she ever requested it, and learned courtly skills there, but never really... stuck around, and spent most of his time wandering, sharpening his skills (and developing the Hidden Skills), saving people, and maybe having a few short romances, maybe getting someone pregnant (but never realising that, and vowing after his death to watch over his descendent, TP Link, in apology for unintentionally abandoning his child), since HH confirms that they're blood relatives. At one point, he loses his eye, and he probably dies in defense of someone or some place. Zelda ends up having prophetic dreams that lead her to his bones, and she has his remains buried on the castle grounds (the Cursed Swordsman's grave).

Okay, that wasn't really brief, heh.
