Mine was kinda weird. There was a half eaten deer carcass in the yard, when I went to make breakfast. I didn't even hear anything last night, and it was rather close to my house.

Then I took down my curtains to was them, which turned into clean every fucking thing until your feet hurt too much to stand anymore.(Why does cleaning hurt so much? It should not hurt this much.) Don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but hydrogen peroxide is fucking awesome when it comes to cleaning up dried, stuck hairballs off laminate floor. On a related note, I need to check under my bed more thoroughly and frequently. I also got shelves put up, with Dad's help after the deer was taken care of.

My brother called my parents asking for money (again) and that always makes me feel guilty about still being dependent on my parents and I feel like a hypocrite for thinking he should be able to get by even though everyone assures me that our situations are very different (for one thing, he has a job that pays more than my dad's job). I need to block out the sounds of my parents talking about this before I have a panic attack.

IDGI, he earns more than your father, but keeps asking your father for money? Does he have a ton of extraordinary expenses or something?

We have no idea where all their money is going. Together my parents make more than he does so it still makes some sense for him to ask them for money, but I don't know why he keeps doing this.

That reminds me, I need to clean this weekend. D:

I just left work, and it felt like more of a Friday than lately... Probably because we as legal assistants kept running out of stuff to do for the first time in months. And now I'm off to shed this winter coat for a while. :P

Also did some hairball cleaning this morning. On carpet. :/ Also tried calling the insurance company yet again regarding the check I'm supposed to be getting for the car that got wrecked, and since I'd been an adult so far all morning, while waiting for a call back, played Animal Crossing for a few hours.

Still haven't gotten a call, so finally I went out to run errands, discovered that Jif now makes a SALTED CARAMEL hazelnut spread, which is an obvious must-buy... then came home, turned on my monitor, and saw a rainbow graphic accompanying a news article about how my state's ban on same-sex marriage had been overturned while I was out grocery shopping. :D :D :D

Nice. I mostly slept and caught up on How I Met Your Mother. Had an hour of physical therapy for my tendentious in the afternoon, but other than that was pretty good. Best day I've had in weeks.

I sent my novel draft off to beta readers! Taking a few days off after that.

In my lit class we did the favorite color & animal psychology test. Right after that the teacher talked about representations of The Other in films, and said how E.T. the alien could actually represent a boy's sexual maturity, which everyone was so crushed to think.

First: ew, deer carcass. Second: noooooooooo, that poor deer! At least you had help with it? I can't imagine having to clean that up...geez.

And I feel you about the cleaning. I can work out for an hour and be sweaty and tired but not the least bit sore. On the other hand too much cleaning at once and my back kills me and I can barely move.

Almost our entire house needs cleaning; I need to reorganize, scrub, throw shit away and give some things (mostly clothes and purses) to good will. I'm just going to do a bit each day until everything's (as close to) spotless (as it's going to get). And tidy.

We had a great pizza party (we also bought pop and chips) as a goodbye party for our Japanese exchange student who's going home tomorrow. She started crying because she didn't want to leave and then we had a giant 20-person group hug. It was nice.

Curious: what do you think killed the deer? Any major predators live in your area?

As far as I know we've only got coyotes here, and they're on the small side. We think the deer may have been injured, like got hit by a car and survived or something. That would have made it very easy coyote prey.

Yeah, that makes sense. Coyotes in general are pretty small and afaik only go after small prey (like rabbits) most of the time.

That's probably the reaction I would have had if a deer had wound up dead in my yard. Well, I would have been really surprised since we live in a dense enough neighborhood that even though we've seen deer around before, I doubt any actually live (like, sleep) that close to my house. We do have coyotes in the area, but no other predators, at least none that are any bigger than coyotes.
