Barring stuff intended for fap material, do you think there's cases where nudity adds to story? And how so?

Uh, yes? When the nudity has something to do with the story rather than just being shoved in there for the sake of it? Like, you know, every single other narrative feature in the history of storytelling? What the hell is this question anyway?

Yes and it is a tool for storytelling used right it is amazing, used wrong it isn't. Same with anything else used in the visual mediums.

For example:
I love a good car chase, but I've seen loads of badly filmed ones, same with nudity or sword fights there is nothing in my mind that sets nudity on a pedestal or outside of the rest of the narrative devices.

Someone on TV Tropes argued that the nudity in The Meek establishes the protagonist's separation from society. I've never read The Meek, so I don't really know.

I just found it uncomfortable, just because I don't think it's advisable to be running around a forest with your hooha all exposed.

Of course it can. It can reveal a great deal about what's going on with a character, or it can carry a symbolic weight, or it can establish a relationship, or any number of other things.

I like to use judicious nudity to show vulnerability or intimacy or lack thereof. I think it's excellent tool for that.

Sure. When the nudity is used for something other than a "wink wink nudge nudge" at the camera and actually means something then yeah it can add to a story. You just have to, you know, use it instead of abuse it.

It's an art I haven't seen many master.

It can but more often than not it doesn't, because more often than not it's put in for its own sake rather than being a part of the narrative that adds to the story.

One example from the show "Angel": A character has just gotten her ass severely kicked, which has never happened to her before to that extent (barring one other time) since she's one of the physically strongest people around. She undresses, the camera focusing on her many injuries, and gets in the shower to wash off the blood, visibly numb and detached for a minute. And then all her rage and frustration comes bubbling up and she starts screaming and punching the wall hard enough to destroy the tile. When she gets out, another character asks her, "Feel better?"

While the nudity wasn't critical to that moment - it rarely ever is - I feel like it added to the story. She got fucked up in a fight for the first time in a long time and it had a serious impact on her, and the nudity allowed you to see both the extent of the damage and how she processed what happened to her in a private moment of decompression. It would have been possible without nudity, but it wouldn't have been as visceral, IMO.
