Re: Pilot episodes that you really love
What I love is that they built up the character of Ken Titus throughout the entire episode, really painting a strong picture of him via the use of flashbacks -- and only having him show up in the present moment towards the end, right as his sons are making fun of him.
It really says a lot about him that they assume he's dead because he hasn't left his bedroom in 4 days, not even to get a beer. (But they don't want to go in to check on him.)
* When the show originally aired, FOX made the producers air the 2nd episode first. On the DVDs they're ordered properly.
