...that's actually a pretty inconsistent grammar rule. And a terrible analogy.

It's easily fixed - i before e / except after c / or when sounding like 'ay' / as in neighbor and weigh / .... unless it's weird.
There you go, now it works for everything!

Unless it's "feisty". Or "caffeine". Or "leisure" or "foreign" or a bunch of others that I can't remember right now. Unless you mean "unless it's weird" to cover those, which is a shitty fix. XD

So yeah, not a great rule. And it's still a bad analogy.
