I see what you're saying. People don't have to like her and there are definite reasons to not, but I've seen fandom ADORE characters despite those things (maybe even because of them) so I suppose that's what's throwing me off. I'm aware Sherlock doesn't necessarily have the same audience, but it does confound me at times what makes one morally questionable character popular and another hated. (JSYK, I found Mary extremely lovable in the first two episodes and was very confused about her entire role in the third episode, though not entirely surprised. I still think she's done some terrible things but overall have settled in thinking that even if she isn't the best person, she's an interesting character. IDK where the show is going to go with her but I'm looking forward to finding out.)
