I realize I'm probably feeding a troll here, but...

*raises a hand*

26 year old, been into anime since 1997, and while that doesn't make me /old/ by many otaku standards, I am quite aware and enjoy a ton of oldschool anime.

However, now? Those shows can only be re-watched so many times before I start to want something new. ;) What should it matter to you what people like and if it's current? Everyone has different standards. It's a shame if your friends are forcing you to like a character if you don't like them. Even so, I'll sit over here in my corner and love almost every minute of my Bleach, regardless of what you think of the plot, the characters, or me.
