I can understand this sentiment.

On the other hand I was an artist for bigbang story where the author was writing two pairings (x/y and y/z), where x/y was given it's due in the beginning and y/z slowly coming into play later on, while x was thought to be dead for a while. No one was bashed, but the author was going back between x/y or y/z as endgame and even wrote two endings to better decide. In the end, she decided on the y/z ending.

In this particular case I think it would have been misleading not tagging both pairings, because there was about half/half of each pairing in developpment and content.
