Yeah, OP. I could never get over how badly they handled this, because of Brenda and Kelly's friendship. And I could never get behind Kelly and Dylan because of it.

I'm torn. I hated them, but I also kind of think they deserved each other. As a kid Brenda/Dylan was my OTP but having rewatched the show as an adult, I hate every character but Brenda.

I never watched this show, so I'm not sure what the 'betrayal' is. If it's just her dating a guy who used to date her best friend - well, it happens. If he broke up with the other girl to date her, then I'd like to think there would be some blame on the guy for straying, too.

If it's more that she was actively undermining another relationship for her benefit, then I can see your point. Although, this is a high school setting, right? Not exactly a forum for the most mature behaviour.

He cheated on Brenda with Kelly, her best friend, while she was away. Then they lied about it and eventually got together. Kelly basically threw her friendship in her face.
