I'm the same; I really tried to like Aslaug, but I just couldn't warm up to her (especially after last week's episode). Her gift of prophecy is quite interesting, though; I'm curious what else she'll foretell.

agreed. And it's even worse because I like Alyssa Sutherland a lot as a person-- she seems totally sweet and she's devoted to the character-- but the show has just given us no reason at all to like Aslaug :\ I'm hoping they can redeem her.

and I forgot to at, my OTP is Ragnar/Athelstan so even though I love Ragnar and Lagertha together, it's not even like Aslaug broke my OTP!

Haaaa, the last episode almost looked like a Ragnar/Athelstan breakup even though it wasn't actually. xD

It bothers me that he's constantly trying to get in Floki's good graces; he's got Ragnar as a friend (who doesn't turn him away). I'm also curious what's going to happen to him, being back in England, with his faith crisis and all that...this should pan out rather interestingly. I think as much as he clams conversion, he's still a man of the cloth, deep deep down in his heart of hearts, and I don't think Ragnar would hate him for it. But Floki...he's been sippin' that haterade.

I think with Floki it's because he is so devout that having someone he perceives as not truly being a believer claim to be so is offensive to him.

Heck, look at his reaction when Rollo "converted" last season. Or how willing he was to sacrifice himself at Uppsala when Athelstan turned it down (and perhaps he holds that against Athelstan too [though I don't think it's A's fault...he had no idea what Ragnar was offering him up for and that's one of the things that bugs me about the show because we never saw any sort of response to that] since a good man of their group went in his place).

I never thought about it like that, that's actually very reasonable. I always just felt that he resented Athelstan for becoming so close to Ragnar ( I doubt he could take his place, but he's the new kid in town, and he's different, which may make him interesting, and Ragnar is a curious man). Your speculation makes sense though, there is always this feeling that Floki wants to unmask him.

I also tried to like Aslaug but find myself mostly neutral with light annoyance. I mean yeah, I think she gets a lot of undeserved shit from the fandom but she's written as a flat and uninteresting character so I can't like her either. Not that the fandom hasn't also shit on Ragnar for cheating because he totally did.

I just feel like the writers don't know which direction to take with her. On the one hand, I get her going to Ragnar after she got pregnant because he does have to take responsibility for their child. On the other hand, I don't know why she also tried to make nice with Bjorn in front of his mother because that shit was never going to work. Who knows, man... If they decide to go with the original legend of Ragnar having 3 wives, she might not stay in the show long. *shrugs* Can't say I'd be heartbroken or anything.

Also apparently people are shipping Lagertha/Aslaug now. The only femslash ship I will sail for this fandom is Lagertha/Siggy. They can complain about those stupid brothers to each other.

It's not different than no 5 or no 2. And you posted that secret about the person having money that wasn't really a fandom secret at all.

Is it just because you disagree with the secret's content, so you hid it?

It lacks the "I think..." language. That's sort of the default rule around here.
