Favorite Les Mis song

If you don't know any Les Mis songs, feel free to ignore, of course.

I'm a sucker for good old pathos filled anthems, so all the student anthems are great. I like Stars, just not the movie version.

My teen!self would have said On My Own, but I'm not too fond of it anymore.

I'm neutral on most of the songs, with the grand exception of Master of the House. What a song. I would totally watch the play if Master of the House was all of the songs in it.

je suis tombé par terre, c'est la faute à voltaire
le nez dans le ruisseau c'est la faute à rousseau

original version of little people. very catchy and funny, but untranslatable unfortunately.
and then of course there's the epilogue. very powerful stuff.

Do You Hear The People Sing because I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.

'Stars', but Javert is my favourite so naturally I'd say that.

'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables', in particular Michael Ball's version, because it's good for heart-wrenching.

'Master of the House' because hilarious and menacing.

'The Confrontation' because Javert vs Valjean in counterpoint, and because splitting my attention between the two of them caused me to focus on that song more attentively than most others, so it stuck longer.

It was On My Own a few years ago, and then it shifted to A Little Fall Of Rain. Nowadays, it's Do You Hear The People Sing and Red & Black. I'm also in love with the French version of One Day More.

...How can you choose a specific song from one of the greatest masterpieces of theatre !? I'm still divided between At The End Of The Day, Fantine's Death, One Day More, and Valjean's Prayer! (the Colm Wilkinson one, that is; not the Hugh Jackman one. That one sucks)

At the End of the Day.

One Day More, because it is a kick-ass end-of-act number. Act II never returns to those heights.

IDK IDK, I don't really like Les Mis that much. S'alright. But I doubt I would even put it in my Top 50.

oh gosh, this is hard.

Tossup between Overture/Look Town and Castle in the Cloud. Also love the Innkeeper's Song.

I feel this isn't the best answer since it's been a while since I've heard the music. I've played it though (pit orchestra in high school, like six years ago) so I feel I should remember it better. But I blocked out a lot of music-related stuff for a few years and some of it hasn't really come back :/

One Day More. I'm a sucker for giant song numbers, especially when they bring in a lot of pieces of previous songs.

I still love On My Own :/

"One Day More." I feel like that is just perfection, weaving everyone's storylines together in one piece.

I do absolutely adore "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" (especially when sung by Michael Ball), but "One Day More" is always my favourite.

No "I Dreamed A Dream"?

Mine seems to change at the drop of a hat, but right now it's 'Bring Him Home'. More for Valjean's emotional outpouring than the subject matter, really- damn song destroys me.

I love "Master of the House"--also Javert's suicide.
