Grumpy venting

I have phoned the emergency dental clinic twice a day since last Monday! Every single time I've lost the phone lottery and been redialling so long that by the time I got into the queue all the appointments were long gone.

The A&E (British ER) receptionist wouldn't even fucking hear me out; she cut me off when I mentioned it was originally a gum infection, and threatened to get security to make me leave. I didn't even see the fucking triage nurse.

Now there's no point in me phoning the emergency dentist until Thursday, since I don't have the bus fare needed to get down to there. I'd have it if the jobcentre weren't such raging gits though. I reclaimed my bus fare from last week (you get paid jobseeker's allowance fortnightly, and if they make you go to the jobcentre weekly you can reclaim the travel expenses from the non-payment week). This goes straight into my bank account, and even though they can do same or next day ones, the advisor refused to speed mine up for any reason and left it as the default three days, thus leaving me under the minimum funds needed to withdraw money.

This rules out trying the hospital again before then, since I also need a bus to get there, which sucks. I'll see if I have more luck with my GP in the morning; they're in walking distance at least.

Ignoring the pain when it's just at "achey burny pressurey" level, taking paracetamol or ibuprofen when it gets worse than that (dependent on which I took most recently, which would be the box on the top of the pile, take the one I didn't take no sooner than two hours later), trying not to sleep on my left side.

Trying not to panic or cry over the crap state of NHS dental care in this city. And wishing I lived in one of these cities so I could go down to the dental school and get treated there as a patient/study subject.

How bad do you have to be before they can't ignore you because it becomes criminal?

I dunno.

I was planning on asking my mum to drive me to the hospital tomorrow, but where she's been scheduled to work tomorrow morning and lunch won't leave her with enough time, especially since she has to go buy more dog food as well.

I wish I could drive myself all the places. Unfortunately, that is an impossibility for me :(

ugh omg I can't even begin, that's so awful. I had a gum infection last semester and it was the worst. People are awful too, I hope it gets better very soon.
