And rape culture doesn't exist.

lol try again

RAINN says it doesn't. You know, RAINN that website people always quote for rape statistics and such?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-25 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
RAINN also considers only unwanted penetrative sex to be rape and doesn't count prison rape statistics.

rainn never said that, they said that it's "unfortunate" that people are more focused on eliminating rape culture, which is difficult, than going after rapists in particular. rape culture is a societal issue that is perpetuated by almost everybody, but most of those people aren't rapists, even if their attitude is enabling and dismissive at best.

"In the last few years, there has been an unfortunate trend towards blaming “rape culture” for the extensive problem of sexual violence on campus. While it is helpful to point out the systemic barriers to addressing the problem, it is important not to lose sight of a simple fact: Rape is caused not by cultural factors but by the conscious decisions, of a small percentage of the community, to commit a violent crime."

Rape is not caused by society. It is caused by terrible individuals. So, you can't have a rape culture without society.

they later clarified their intentions. rainn supports the idea that rape culture exists. they just don't think it should be the focusing point, which i personally disagree with.
