The worse thing is men do write fanfic and participate in fandom, and in some cases will completely take over something not even designed for their consumption.

Bronies and their pony porn is the first thing that comes to mind.

And on top of that, it's usually men in the first place that create a lot of popular media, and the women portrayed in a lot of it already are 2D big breasted love interests.

Ladies making Dean Winchester the eye candy of their fics got nothing on that.

I'm sure this wasn't the intended message, but what I'm getting out of what you said is that it's "the worse thing" that men write fanfic and participate in fandom, even in the cases where they aren't taking anything over and/or they're the target audience, because all they're doing is writing creepy bestiality porn, and men create most popular media and often write flat female characters whose only role is to be the hot love interest anyway.
