As someone who has only read the book, and found it meh in a lot of ways, I really want to see the movie. Like, I admit it's been ages since I read the book and the only thing I really remember is... how the scene where they were on some kind of airship for WEEKS was glossed over? I know timeskips happen, but did nothing interesting at all really happen in that time? The characters involved seemed awesome. Things like that are what made up my main impression.

But gosh was the writing beautiful. This isn't the only Gaiman book that felt rushed to me in terms of plot, but he is an amazing writer in terms of description and putting together prose.
