I understand not liking something but the amount of hate for this show is ridiculous. Why do people hate it so much? And why is so much of that hate taken out on the fans? I'm genuinely curious.

I haven't watched any of it, but stuff generally gets a lot of hate when there's a lot of expectation for it to be good and it just isn't.

How do you know it just isn't good, if you haven't watched it? I watched it, I like it, I think it's a good show.

I don't. I was just speaking from past experiences with hyped shows that have gotten a lot of backlash.

Hyped shows get backlash no matter what, regardless of the quality of the writing. For some reason that goes twice for Joss Whedon shows. The guy has acquired a vocal hatedom.

Because clearly we all just need to admit how awful it is, and how dare we not! Are we stupid?! Or just being contrary for contrariness' sake? I think that's pretty much it. They think it's boring with bad characters and are offended that not everybody feels that way.

Because expectations were so high, the fallout is always bigger when you've set yourself up like that.

Because how dare people like things that I don't like! By liking things that I don't like, they allow those things to continue to exist, and that existence offends and possibly physically wounds me. Or something.

Yup, that's the vibe I'm getting.

I don't get it either. Personally, I was really disappointed in the beginning. But I kept watching, and its gotten a lot better. Not perfect, but enjoyable. And I feel like all the people hating on it are talking about the first few episodes because the things they mention really don't seem true of the most recent ones.

Yeah, agreed. Which it's perfectly understandable why the haters are only talking about the first few episodes, since those are likely the only ones they've seen but..still. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. People were just expecting way too much.

Yes, I thought the intro was weak but I've been enjoying it. It's not OMG AMAZING but it's entertaining, and I'm liking most of the characters (except Ward, though he's starting to grow on me). I'm quite a bit behind but I'm really looking forward to the Sif episode.

I don't care for it too much since, well, I was expecting more MARVEL-y stuff to happen. Offhand remarks, cameos, you know. I wasn't expecting them to FOCUS on the Marvel stuff, I just wanted that feeling of "Hey, I know what they're referencing! I know who they're talking about!" I wanted more action and supers and stuff, and I got... eh?

My mom and I watched the first few episodes and I just completely lost interest and it became a chore to watch, so I stopped. If it got better after I left, that's good, but I won't come back, since I never got that invested in the first place. There's also the fact I can't stand that one girl (cba to remember her name, she's the one most people complain about so you probably know who I'm referring to) and she just ruined everything even more for me. She reminded me way too much of people I can't stand irl and I was rolling my eyes at pretty much everything she said. I could tolerate her when Coulson was onscreen at the same time, but he wasn't around as often as I would have liked.

People can like the show all they want, I'm not stopping them, but please don't rip my head off for saying I don't like that one character and how DARE you not like her, etc. etc. I don't go around bashing the show; if someone asks my opinion of it, I just say "I just don't care much for it" and leave it at that.

Don't even worry, most people absolutely despise Skye.

The show has gotten better, Coulson has become more of a focal point, and there's been a lot of cameos lately. I know that won't bring you back, though.

Personally I think people were expecting too much from it, I don't think the hype in it's marketing helped matters on that front but I don't think the hate it gets is all that warranted either. It's just okay, but that seems to be it's biggest crime or something.

I'be been boggling about that since the beginning. Still haven't come up with an answer. Something about us enjoying this show seems to deeply offend some people. It's ridiculous.

I mean, there are at least a dozen shows that I tried to get into and couldn't, for various reasons. So I stopped watching them. I don't go out on crusades to convince the fans of those shows that they have sucky taste.
