My mom told me he had died, and I said that he had been dead for years. But it turns out she was right! Everyone is talking about how he just died. Am I the only one who thought he was already dead? Was there a fake death announcement at one point? Are we sure he's dead now?

You probably thought he was dead because in all the pics you saw of him recently he looked like the Crypt Keeper.

Hmm, maybe you got him mixed up with something because I never heard anything about it until a week or so ago when he started dying. (But I am not the best at keeping up with news, so take with a grain of salt.)

I think there was talk of some sort of schism in his church a few years ago. Maybe that's what you were thinking of?
