Ohmigod, there's someone else here who's seen An Age of Kings?! I really enjoyed it. Part 1's trimmed down to one episode (the cut the old/young Talbot subplot mostly) but Eileen Atkins as Jean la Pucelle mostly makes up for it. And it's always really nice to see the histories done with continuity of actors, because I don't have a time machine to see Peter Hall's War of the Roses.

Really? There isn't a region 1 boxset of all 37 plays from the BBC Complete series, but there are the genre sets I always seen in Acorn catalogs; and all should be available individually. Most are available as discs from Netflix, and I've seen lots of them in libraries both local and university. I've even bought a few of them from library sales and remainder dealers (oh, Edward R. Hamilton, you are my favorite crack dealer!).

Let me reiterate, I have Age of Kings but I haven't watched it yet. I'm waiting for some free time to talk my Histories pal [livejournal.com profile] angevin2 into watching it with me. But yes. Looking forward to it lots.

And I can see the genre sets, but they're missing plays--I don't have Netflix discs, I haven't seen any individual ones for sale anywhere, and... dammit, I just want to own their King John, you know? I haven't seen it for sale anywhere. The BBC America website is hopeless and Amazon doesn't seem to know what to do with that request. Blah.
