(Anonymous) 2014-03-27 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)I was there long after the HP era. That looked like a good time! I wish I'd been there for that instead of when I was.

It really sucks they made you cry, that pisses me off. For God's sake, it's supposed to be fun! That isn't at all like the experience I had,* it sounds like a bunch of new people moved in or sometimes people get weird when they have a tiny bit of power. The website Television Without Pity is shutting down soon, and the mods there are a prime example!
*Although I will say some people got incredibly obnoxious about anything that hinted at spoilers. I mean anything, to the point that a lot of conversation was inhibited. Like people--not all or most but a vocal minority--would come swooping down if, say, early in Prisoner of Azakhaban, someone posted Sirius was one of their favorite characters. "Don't saaaaaaaay that!!!! You're spoiling the big reveal later!!!!" Come on, guys. Tons of villains have fans--to say that an apparently bad character is one of your favorites is not to give away what we learn about Sirius later. Hell, Bellatrix is one of *my* favorites and she's almost as bad as Voldemort! It got very camp counselor-y--it's one thing if Mark or that designated mod (can't remember his name) said something but if you're just another commenter, chill.
